How does it work?
The system works by transferring files from your PC to the TLS servers, via broadband internet connection. In the case of a restoration, the files are brought back from the TLS servers to your PC. All files are encrypted and compressed before being transferred via the internet. Once on the TLS servers, the files are unreadable and totally secure. Bit based backups ensures that only changed portions of some large files – ie email .pst files, are transferred saving connection times. TLS provides a full backup history – so you could get a file that was backed up yesterday, or a few weeks ago !
Backing up your PCs / network
Once installed onto your local PC system, the TLS client runs in the background.
- Simply set up your own backup groups /schedules (as many as you want)
- Backup data from any network attached storage (including shared PC drives)
- Then rest easy, everything else just runs in the background
- Every day you will get a short email confirming what TLS did for you
Confirmation of backup, or perhaps you lost internet connection, try again.
Restoring your files / folders.
Getting the backed up data is equally simple.
- Make sure you have your unique encryption key available
- Start a restoration session, and select the date of the backup you want to use
- Select the files / folders you want to get back
- Let the TLS do the rest for you – your restored files will be back with you shortly
